Patch Availability: X3 2022 R4 (12.0.32) What's New?

The patches contain the latest updates for improvements, stability, and performance of your system, and are recommended for all Sage Enterprise Management V12 customers. The life cycle of version 12 is by semi-annual update. Each semi-annual update has 6 months of support in the "Current" phase, 12 months in the "Standard" phase, and 6 months of support in the "Extended" phase.

From version 2019 R5 (12.0.20) and higher, the patches are cumulative. The minimum version required to apply this patch is 2019 R4 (12.0.19) 

At the level of platform There are a number of improvements and changes:

  • supports Azure SQL Elastic Pools and standalone MS SQL Server databases.
  • incorporates a new rich text HTML editorCheck the guide for more details.
  • A new option to handle secure attachments, in a simpler, safer way, simplifying the file upload feature.
  • The 2.56.0 console can now import X3 dossiers using parallel threads, which will help reduce import time for large dossiers.
  • ATP 2.9.0 is now managed via ATP concurrent session count. Any of the Sage X3 user types can be used for ATP connections.
  • Elastic Search is no longer required when installing Sage X3 Web Server (Syracuse server).
  • Windows 2022 Server is now officially supported with Sage X3.

Remember: You can use the “Test update” menu item to test an update and check if there are any conflicts with your customizations. In all cases, it is mandatory:

  • Test the update on a test instance.
  • Make a backup of your application before running the update.

NOTES:

(1) Review the patch documentation, which you will find in the ZIP file. You will find the installation instructions and the list of improvements. For more information about the fixes contained in all patches, including this one, see our Patchfinder utility.

(2) Sage recommends that you upgrade to the latest version of certified Elastic Search (see https://online-help.sageerpx3.com/erp/12/public/prerequisites_overview.html for more details). Elastic Search licensing as of v6.4 has changed: Sage will not deliver the Elastic Search configuration in future communications. Partners and customers will need to download the configuration files when deploying Sage X3. You can download the latest version of Elastic Search that is certified with Sage X3 at www.elastic.co. Please read the included documentation for further instructions and also refer to the article 99424 "Additional notes when upgrading ElasticSearch".

(5) Elasticsearch 7.16.2 is validated if you are running Syracuse 12.9 or higher.

(6) Mongo DB 4.4 requirements:

  • MongoDB 4.4 is only compatible with Syracuse 12.14 or higher. Older versions may remain with MongoDB 4.2.17.1
  • MongoDB 4.4 and higher is not supported on Windows 2012 R2. MongoDB 4.2.17.1 can still be used in this case.

(7) Runtime 95.2.85

Prerequisites:

As of release 2022 R4/V12.0.32 with runtime 95.2, you need to install:

PowerShell for Microsoft SQL Server architectures

  1. Install the package MSI package.
    https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell/releases/download/v7.2.3/PowerShell-7.2.3-win-x64.msi
  2. Open an MS-DOS window with administrator rights.
  3. enter pwsh.exe to run the PowerShell installation wizard.
  4. Enter $PSVersionTable to check that you are on version 7.2 or higher.
  5. enter Install-Module -Name SqlServer -Scope AllUsers -force to install the Microsoft SQL Server PowerShell module.
  6. enter Get-InstalledModule -Name SqlServer to make sure that the installation has been done correctly.

PowerShell for RedHat architectures

You can install by direct download Microsoft PowerShell 7.2 or later, or you can follow these steps:

  1. Connect to the machine through putty.
  2. enter sudo -i to run the PowerShell wizard.
  3. enter curl https://packages.microsoft.com/config/rhel/7/prod.repo | sudo tee /etc/yum.repos.d/microsoft.repo to register in the Microsoft RedHat repository.
  4. enter sudo yum install --assumeyes powershell to install PowerShell.
  5. enter pswh to launch PowerShell and make sure the installation was done right.
